Millions of laundry detergent bags are being recalled by Proctor & Gamble, who are citing an injury risk as the reason.

Procter & Gamble Recalls 8.2 Million Defective Bags of Tide, Gain, Ace and Ariel Laundry Detergent Packets Distributed in US Due to Risk of Serious Injury who are citing an injury risk as the reason.

The recall applies only to bags distributed in the United States. The pods were manufactured between Sept. 2023 and Feb. 2024 and range from bags of 12 to 39 pods. The CPSC said the outer packaging to prevent children and others from accessing the pods can split open near the zipper track. This could pose a risk of serious injury to children and "other vulnerable populations" if the liquid contents of the pod are ingested, as well as a risk of skin or eye injuries.
