GDAP representatives led by James Lo recently paid a courtesy visit to National Economic and Development Authority Secretary Arsenio Balisacan to express their desire to collaborate more with various government agencies to elevate the Philippine game development industry. They also shared the challenges that the emerging industry is facing such as the difficulties in connecting with investors and other industries that are needed to develop games and the general lack of support for the gaming industry.
Balisacan said the National Innovation Agenda and Strategy Document for 2023-2032 is a potential avenue of collaboration with GDAP. The NIASD seeks to establish a dynamic innovation ecosystem which is characterized – among other things – by platforms that connect different innovation actors to each other and a government that enables and encourages innovation that is driven by the private sector.
