Richard Powers, an associate professor at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, says those corporations have created an “economy of scale” that targets customer convenience, making it difficult for those customers to look elsewhere.“Are people going to travel further to pick up the groceries or other services? That’s questionable,” he said in an interview. “I think this boycott will be short-lived.
