Former Young Rich Lister Nick Bell knows what he’s doing sounds crazy to most people. Even his wife thinks he’s nuts.
Bell is a serial entrepreneur. He’s established or helped set up more than a dozen companies, including a digital advertising agency that he sold for $39 million in 2017. It was a deal that put him on the Young Rich List with wealth last valued at $274 million before his age forced him off .“I wasn’t the smartest kid,” Bell says. “I was always an average student. I wasn’t an academic, I didn’t really enjoy learning.
Bell developed a skincare product and plotted world domination. He was going to get rich. Or so he thought.“I had this idea for a skincare brand that treated acne, because I really had acne as a kid. I engaged a pharmacist and a manufacturer to devise a product, they develop the product. I thought, this is great, I’m going to make millions in year one.He was 28 with maxed-out credit cards. He looked at his options. Get another sales job or launch a different business. He chose the latter.
“I thought I could come in and charge a fraction of what they are charging and offer performance guarantees and that’s exactly what I did and it blew up within a few days.”
