It’s been confirmed that Zidane has an interest in Manchester following ‘increased investment’ leading to a ‘number of projects’.
The company hopes to build a six-storey apartment block on Spear Street, just off Stevenson Square in the Northern Quarter. The modest building will house just five two-bedroom apartments, if given planning permission. It’s interested in doing so as ‘the context of Spear Street is changing’ due to ‘increased investment into the area has seen a number of projects developing on the street, including the Grade A office development’, according to a statement in the planning application.
“Vacant plots have impacted negatively on the streetscape and the conservation area as a whole, including the empty site at 47 Spear street following the demolition of the building. The proposed development has been designed with the view of being sympathetic to the surrounding building context and in line with the conservation groups comments.”
