Thousands of brand new vehicles are waiting in the large car park of French auto maker Renault on the outskirts of Tangier to be transported to the port of Tanger Med on their way to Europe. TORONTO — Ontario says it will suspend driver's licences for at least 10 years for those who have been convicted of stealing a car. Transportation Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria says those thrice-convicted of auto theft would have their licenses suspended for life. Sarkaria says the province is also implementing stiffer penalties including a one-year license suspension for those convicted of stunt driving. Those penalties also increase on second and third convictions.

The company's share of Canada's EV charging market is lower than in the U.S., but uncertainty around its Supercharger division could still have an impact.Ontario plans to bring in legislation that would impose tough new penalties on impaired drivers, the provincial government says.In a news release on Wednesday, the Ontario government said one of the penalties in the proposed legislation would be a lifetime licence suspension on motorists convicted of impaired driving causing death.

MALPEQUE BAY, P.E.I. — Firefighters rescued five crew members from a mussel fishing boat that ran aground in rough seas off Prince Edward Island’s North Shore on Monday. The RCMP said no injuries were reported following the rescue carried out with a Zodiac boat from the New London Fire Company off Malpeque Harbour. New London firefighter Jonathan Gillis said his department received a call requesting assistance around 8:50 a.m. from the Kensington, P.E.I., fire department.
