The National Republican Senatorial Committee announced on Friday that it is shelling out seven figures toward a “Michigan field program” for Rogers that “will ensure that Mike Rogers’ campaign has the necessary infrastructure on the ground to turn out Republicans and reach persuadable voters that are crucial to winning the general election,” the group said in a press release.
“The Michigan Senate race is one of our top pickup opportunities in 2024,” NRSC spokeswoman Maggie Abboud said in a statement. “This investment is a direct reflection of our confidence in Mike Rogers’ ability to flip this seat in November.” Rogers is facing off against likely opponent Rep. Elissa Slotkin , who is opting out of a fourth term in the House to try to capture retiring Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s seat. She is considered a more centrist Democrat who hasRep. Slotkin and Rogers still need to make it out of their Aug. 6 primaries. Slotkin is facing off against actor Hill Harper, and Rogers is battling several Republicans, including former Rep. Justin Amash, businessman Sandy Pensler, and Sherry O’Donnell.
