Mother of 14-year-old charged in Houston Farmer's Market employee's death turned him in, sources say. HOUSTON, Texas - A 14-year-old boy accused of fatally shooting a local farmer's market employee during a golf cart theft is in custody.The deadly shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. on June 6 at the Houston Farmers Market off Airline Drive near Sylvester Road.
Surveillance footage showed the two suspects trying to steal a golf cart when 36-year-old Damon Price walked up to stop them. That's when police say one of the suspects took out a gun and opened fire on Price, hitting him at least four times before they ran off.Houston Police said Price's job was to check the delivery trucks arriving at the building.
Police say the two teenagers got in through an open door. Security footage also shows the suspects rummaging through the farmers market merchandise. Police said the mother of the 14-year-old brought him down to the police station to turn himself in. He is currently in custody at the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center.
