Oracle posted adjusted earnings of $1.63 per share on revenue of $14.29 billion, while analysts expected earnings of $1.65 per share on $14.55 billion in revenue.

Rentokil Initial — Shares in Terminix-parent Rentokil jumped nearly 7% after Nelson Peltz's Trian Partners confirmed it has taken a significant position in the pest-control giant and is currently a top-10 shareholder of the company. A Trian spokesperson told CNBC on Tuesday that the firm seeks to engage with leadership on "ideas and initiatives to improve shareholder value."
