VENDORS of the Burgos Public Market in Bacolod City attend a dialogue with Mayor Albee Benitez last month regarding the city’s proposed P525-million market renovation.
In a press briefing, Carmelo Lacson Jr., vice president of the Burgos Market Vendors’ Association, said that of the 343 actual occupants in the market, only 15 supported the rehabilitation project, while 328 voted against it. Lacson said that this is their own initiative, as they speak based on their individual and group’s experiences, and there’s no political motivation behind their decision.
