No conflicting data by Finance Ministry, BNM on govt debt, says deputy minister

THE Finance Ministry and Bank Negara Malaysia did not release conflicting data on the federal government’s direct debt, said Deputy Finance Minister Amiruddin Hamzah. He said MOF and BNM, through their latest documents, both reported Putrajaya’s debt as a percentage of the gross domestic product at 51.8% as at end-2018.
