'Experience' is on its way to Rangers this summer, assures Philippe Clement.

So far this summer, the recruitment policy has focussed on youth and players without as much senior game time as will be required for a title race with Celtic, and Champions League qualifiers.

Clement pointed out that the club lost five experienced pros at the end of last season, with John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, Borna Barisic, Kemar Roofe and Jon McLaughlin all out of contract. "It was important to find these young talents and I think we found some exciting talents for the future of this club. They are ready to play some minutes in the beginning but certainly in the next couple of years."

The 49-year-old enjoyed his break, touring the Highlands with his wife. While pleased he's in the good books with her, he admitted that he never really stopped looking at his phone."We made the trip to the north of Scotland, but I was living in my phone also, but that's a normal thing in the spirit of the transfer window where a lot of things need to happen. On the first week back of pre-season training, Clement said: "Everybody did their programme during the summer.

"Because of that we had a lot of injuries, so that was a big concern. We need to train really hard and prepare them really well not only with ball exercises and running, but with a lot of exercises to strengthen their bodies.
