Knox Promenade, a development from Stockdale Investment Group and Hines, was approved by Dallas City Council.
The mixed-use project from Dallas-based Stockdale Investment Group and Houston-based Hines is set to bring three towers of varying sizes and uses to the city’s Knox District while keeping an existing building. The tallest tower, slated for multifamily, will flank the highway side of the development and could rise as high as 399 feet.Meg Meliet, who works for developer Hines’ senior living division, described the project as an “intergenerational village.
“Knox Street has always been a really special area. It’s kind of like Bishop Arts,” said Mary Beth Harrison, a resident of McKinney Avenue. “It’s just a really special area of Dallas, and to obliterate it with high rises all around us is just wrong.”“It is a project that will add a substantial number of housing units, in addition to a percentage of affordable units, which we desperately need. And we also desperately need the senior housing,” said Ridley.
