’ opinion is wise and council member Omar Narvaez is wrong in thinking that a one-year prohibition on doing business with the city after serving on a committee is too strong a rule for committee members.As you noted, these committees have huge influence on the council, and it is better to dilute the relationship by at least a year. If it were up to me, the council, which is way more powerful, should be subject to a two-year ban on doing business with or representing anyone in front of the city.
