At the resumed hearing of the Emefiele case at a Lagos High Court presided over by Justice Abdulrahman Oshodi, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, witness, Mrs. Ifeoma Ogbonnaya has confirmed that Zenith Bank did not obtain any documents designating Mrs.

Margaret Emefiele as a beneficial owner of the accounts of Limelight Multidimensional Ltd, Comec Support Services Ltd and Ambswin Resources Ltd.

Asked if Zenith Bank follows laid down banking regulations in honouring instructions from its customers, she confirmed ‘yes.’ Further asked to confirm that from what she read, Mrs. Emefiele was not a shareholder, and whether Mrs. Emefiele was a director in the company, she responded that Margaret Emefiele was not a director and also confirmed that Godwin Emefiele was neither a shareholder nor Director of Limelight Limited.

Further asked if she ever attended any board and/or management meetings of these companies, she responded ‘no.’ Asked if she came across any documents showing that the shares of any of the three companies were being held in trust for Margaret Emefiele and/or Godwin Emefiele, she answered ‘no.’
