PETALING JAYA: A licensed security company is ready to deploy bomb-sniffing dogs to any religious institution within 48 hours to beef up security after places of worships were advised to take precautionary measures following bomb blasts in churches and hotels in Sri Lanka.

Counterforce Security managing director Kenny Wong said the company could deploy its canine units within 48 hours in peninsular Malaysia.

"Dogs can also be trained to sniff different materials. If there are new types of synthetic bomb material, we can train the dogs to sniff it out.Wong said the cost to hire these dogs was between RM2,000 to RM3,000 per deployment, which comprises a dog and a two-man team – the dog handler and the spotter.
