The Free State Gambling and Liquor Authority has closed a club in Bloemfontein following the death of a man who was beaten. TheA video showing three individuals allegedly assaulting a patron outside the club has gone viral. The men are believed to be bouncers at the club.
Acting CEO of the Free State Gambling and Liquor Authority, Lefa Kalane, said the attack prompted the board to close the club temporarily. Kalane stated, “The purpose of this visit is as a result of the incident that happened on Monday morning where one of the patrons was found dead. And it’s the obligation of the entity that we investigate and upon investigation, the entity will then decide to invoke section 117 of the FSG act to temporarily suspend the license up until certain processes are followed.”
Kalane added, “Now, the process that is going to be followed is that within 14 days, the management of this outlet will give a report to account where a decision will be taken by the board whether or not it must continue with trading. But however, from today until such happens, they are not allowed to trade.
