Zuma has been found guilty of contravening rule 25.17 of the ANC constitution for prejudicing the integrity of the party by acting in collaboration with uMkhonto weSizwe party. Mbalula says that Zuma has impugned the integrity of the ANC. “Dealing with the Jacob Zuma matter has not been an easy one in terms of how normally you deal with people who behave like him as members of the ANC who choose to leave the party and then form a political party and work against the party openly and decampaign the party. That is what Jacob Zuma did. So, under normal circumstances, we should’ve just said ‘he’s gone, he’s gone’.
“The ANC has mismanaged this whole Zuma issue because this is a matter that they should have resolved last year and they took it very lightly until it cost them votes and they are continuing to mismanage this from a communication perspective, which includes that if you are handling a disciplinary case with a person, that person should be the first to receive the outcome.
