Amphenol makes fiber optic connectivity products and systems for industries that include avionics and airframes, military ground systems, naval systems, medical, industrial, mining, oil and gas, and broadcast. The new Allen divisional headquarters will house functions for the company’s executive team, sales, engineering, customer support, procurement, assembly and machining operations, and on-site warehousing.
Amphenol’s stand-alone building within Stillwater’s greater 84-acre light industrial and technology manufacturing park will hold more than 250 employees. The new building, located near State Highway 121 and Chelsea Boulevard, is double the size of its previous space along North Central Expressway near Exchange Parkway.
“Our business is growing exponentially, and we need a home where we can continue to deliver best-in-class solutions for our valued clients and an environment to attract and retain top talent,” said Amphenol GM Eric Heidt.Amphenol had built a “thriving business” in Allen over the past two decades, with ties to the community and more than 200 employees from the area, according to Kay.
“With the landlord unable to accommodate growth within our existing building, we began a thorough search of buildings within a 10-mile radius. Given single-digit vacancy, lack of new product, and rising rents, our options were limited. As we looked at the short list of six, 121 Technology Park became the front-runner,” Kay said.
Allen Economic Development Corp., Peinado Construction, Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services and GSR Andrade also played a role in Amphenol’s new divisional headquarters.Centurion American Development and D.R. Horton’s Forestar Group, Inc. have teamed up to build single-family homes on 241 acres in the Collin County city near the intersection of Preston Road and Legacy Drive.
