Local subsidiary of medtech giant Becton Dickinson & Co. is cutting jobs at two San Diego sites.

Overview of Sorrento Mesa and Sorrento Valley, which is where most of San Diego’s biotech companies are concentrated. CareFusion, a San Diego company that produces health care tools and technology, is laying off 117 workers to improve its operating efficiency.

The company is reducing its workforce at two local sites, including a number of engineering positions, according to the WARN notice BD filed with the state. There were 34 jobs cut at 3750 Torrey View Court and 83 job cuts at 10020 Pacific Mesa Boulevard.
