Newark, NJ-based manufacturer Unionwear is making headlines with its camouflage baseball hat for the Harris-Walz campaign, which has gone viral. With the campaign selling these hats at $40 each, Unionwear President Mitch Cahn joins to discuss this unexpected success.
And uh most of our fashion clients started moving overseas and we transitioned to selling made in USA merchandise. And then they sold just tens of thousands of units really, really quickly, uh, in, in a matter of hours and, and kept on going and, uh, I don't know if it came from a chaperone hat because we've been making camouflage hats with orange lettering on it for 10 or 15 years.
So I wanna go back to that for a minute because, um, it's pretty incredible that you're the only union shop making uh baseball hats in the country. Um We see demand for made in USA merch rise during presidential campaigns and this is outside of the campaign. So uh people have USA on their mind, they have domestic manufacturing on the mind.
