Defining the News

The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. said Friday it mourns the loss of Ambassador Howard Dee, a paragon of virtue whose life was defined by unwavering dedication to service, integrity and deep compassion for those most in need.

Dee’s legacy is enshrined in the numerous institutions he founded and led—among them, as founding trustee of the Philippine Business for Social Progress in 1970, founder of the Assisi Development Foundation in 1975, the Philippine Development Assistance Program in 1984 and ASA Philippines in 2002. As the son of the late FFCCCII vice-president Dee Hong Lue, nephew of FFCCCII vice-president Dee Chiong, nephew of community’s pre-war leader and philanthropist Dee Chuan and great-grandnephew of community’s philanthropist and 19th century Philippine lumber industry pioneer entrepreneur Dy Han Kia, Ambassador Dee upheld a remarkable legacy of philanthropy and ethical entrepreneurship.
