The film stars C.J. de Mooi – best known for his almost 200 appearances on BBC quiz show Eggheads – as an anonymous man who arrives at the nightmarish Renata Hotel, with no memory of his identity or purpose.
The titular hotel is a mix of two real locations – The Chadwick Hotel and The Inn on the Prom in Lytham – while certain interiors were constructed and shot on a soundstage in Bowran Street off Marsh Lane. “It has been a long journey, but it’s immensely satisfying to see the film being embraced by audiences in its home country.
“It’s a film to get involved with and see if you can pick on the subtle hints and clues before the picture reaches its shocking climax.
