South Africa’s Competition Commission has approved the $14 billion deal whereby Hewlett Packard Enterprise is looking to acquire Juniper Networks.they had entered a definitive agreement, under which HPE will acquire Juniper in an all-cash transaction for $40 per share, representing an equity value of approximately $14 billion.
The transaction is expected to close in late calendar year 2024, or early calendar year 2025, subject to receipt of regulatory approvals, approval of the transaction by Juniper shareholders and satisfaction of other customary closing conditions. In SA, it adds, the acquiring firm controls HP South Africa and also controls HP Financial Services, incorporated in Ireland and registered in SA as an external company.
It adds that HPE provides, among others, campus switches, wireless local area network , wireless access points, secure access service edge, software-defined wide area network and enterprise data centre switches.
