RIDE-HAILING service company Grab said on Thursday it would extend full cooperation with authorities investigating the alleged robbery and sexual assault of a Vietnamese passenger.

'Grab Philippines is extending its full cooperation to the Philippine National Police in their ongoing investigation into a recent case involving a driver-partner,' the company said in a statement. It added that the victim was provided with all the support and assistance she needed.Grab said the driver involved was permanently banned from its platform while the investigation continues.

'The safety of our community is our priority, and to ensure their well-being, we continuously implement rigorous driver-partner screening and training, utilize advanced safety technology, and work to establish strategic partnerships with law enforcement agencies,' Grab said.Initial report showed the Vietnamese booked a Grab ride on September 5 but was surprised when the driver allowed another passenger to board the vehicle.
