EC police say they are closely monitoring the Keiskamahoek area after four people were shot dead

Eastern Cape police say they are closely monitoring the Keiskamahoek area after four people were shot dead in the early hours of this morning.

The police’s Major General Zitulele Dladla says officers were following up on information about a person with unlicensed firearms, when they were confronted by a hail bullets. Police retaliated and four suspects were shot dead. Dladla says unlicensed firearms and suspected stolen assets were among other things recovered at the crime scene.

“We recovered three pistols, two vehicles and police reflector jacket, we expecting to arrest other people if information leads us, this is the information we were following and it’s a second time we have confrontations with criminals and police come up tops.
