ON September 25, the Senate Finance Subcommittee C, led by Sen. Ronald de la Rosa, approved the 2025 budget for the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity . This follows the House of Representatives' approval of the agency's funding.Presidential Peace Adviser Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. presented a proposed P7.094 billion budget, a 2.7 percent increase from 2024.
De la Rosa praised the agency's Localizing Normalization Implementation, a mechanism that supports the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.Galvez highlighted the success of involving local governments in these efforts.Galvez also mentioned that in the Visayas, Opapru is finalizing socio-economic projects for the Kapatiran group, formerly the RPM-P/RPA/ABB.
