The new allegations follow an exclusive report where a 75-year-old Navy veteran told News 12 the company refused to unload his items until he paid an additional $2,200 - on top of the original estimate of $1,700.

Exclusive: More former Call My Mover customers contact News 12 claiming the company raised prices after loading truck

Two more former customers of Plainview-based Call My Mover have contacted News 12 claiming the company dramatically raised prices after loading their belongings on a truck. Staff members at the Call My Mover headquarters on DuPont Street initially claimed the moving company was not at that location. But News 12 later tracked down owner Gavriel Avgi, who said prices can increase if customers require additional services like packing, or if they have more items than initially disclosed to the estimator.

By law, moving companies must unload a customer's belongings if the customer pays the amount quoted in the estimate plus 25%. But there is an exception, which allows movers to require payment in full for additional services, including packing and the transport of extra items.
