The company is accused of misclassifying drivers to transport patients between non-emergency facilities, authorities said.

A Camden County company has been accused of misclassifying at least 52 employees and failing to pay correct wages, officials with the Attorney General’s Office announced Wednesday.

An investigation began after authorities received complaints from drivers claiming TransCare had not paid them their full wages, authorities said. TransCare is accused of exercising considerable control over drivers, including directing where, when and how drivers were issued assignments and setting work hours and pay rates, officials said.

Drivers were required to pick up company vehicles in a parking lot where they left their personal vehicle, the same place officials said they were expected to drop off their time sheets and collect their paychecks.
