Police arrested the 57-year-old steward on Thursday. Swatara Township commissioners voted to close the Friendship Fire Company earlier this year.

Tamas Topos, 57, of Swatara Township, stole $80,940.65 from the Friendship Fire Company while he served as a bartender and steward for the social club, according to Swatara Township Police.Magisterial District Judge Michael Smith arraigned Topos Thursday on a felony count of theft by unlawful taking and a misdemeanor of tampering with physical evidence.

Lenker’s name appeared on the “active” membership roster for the Bressler Fire Company — on the same page as Tamas Topos — at around the same time the company was shut down due to allegations of racial discrimination.the township commissioners voted 3-0 to suspend indefinitely
