Gauteng online admission applications close at midnight sabcnews

The Gauteng Department of Education is concerned that over 62 000 of the more than 298 000 applicants have not submitted the required supporting documents to schools.

Parents will not receive offers of placements from schools if they have not submitted the documents. The online admission application process opened on May 20 this year. Applications can be made on the department’s website or by visiting the nearest school, district or head office for assistance. Gauteng Education Department spokesperson Steve Mabona says, “To accommodate parents we have already extended the submission period. So parents are encouraged to go to the different schools they applied to, up until the 31st of July at 2pm they will be allowed to submit the documents. No further extension will be granted. The placement period for admissions 2020 will commence on the 30th of August 2019 and close on the 31st of October.
