Kubra Mohammed, from the Bo-Kaap, in Cape Town, who has been selling koesisters for the past 21 years, explains why people from the Cape like the delicacy as a Sunday morning breakfast. “It comes from our forefathers, that said have a koesister because you are going to have a big meal, because they used to cook two to three different dishes for lunch time, and that is where it comes from and it still is today.”
