1/ I did not intend my tweet to cause any offense to Rockets fans and friends of mine in China. I was merely voicing one thought, based on one interpretation, of one complicated event. I have had a lot of opportunity since that tweet to hear and consider other perspectives. What motivated the league’s response in both cases was money -- inaction threatened to cost the league more than action would.
The power of economics is displayed even more overtly in the China affair. But let’s first recap what’s been happening. First out of the box with an apology tweet was Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta, who wrote, “Listen...@dmorey does NOT speak for the @HoustonRockets.” Morey himself followed two days later with a tweet stating, “I did not intend my tweet to cause any offense to Rockets fans and friends of mine in China. I was merely voicing one thought, based on one interpretation, of one complicated event.” He said he’s had a chance since the original tweet “to hear and consider other perspectives.
It’s real simple. It’s an insult to China. It’s a different form of government and they have their sovereignty too. We may not agree with it but it exists and it is what it is. That’s probably why you don’t hear more praise for Hong Kong and some sort of action being taken.
Nbashutup..communistsuck
Of course ! so is the NFL, NHL, MLB, they all are. People fool themselves into thinking, my team. Bull.
Who thought it wasn’t?
Not just a business, a heartless money blinded entity that will willingly abandon young freedom fighters desperately fighting for the same rights NBA owners, player, and fans enjoy.
So I guess if the Nazis were in power the NBA would apologize too. Jews? Who cares we want that cash. Hong Kong? Round up Muslims? Who cares?! $$$

When China demanded that Google censor the Internet, Google saluted and accepted the mission.
