On the ACCC banking inquiry, Mr Reed signalled concerns that bank-bashing has become a constant theme in the wake of last year's financial services royal commission.
Mr Reed has refused to back suggestions that the Federal Government should shelve its budget surplus ambitions to free up money to stimulate the economy with tax cuts and infrastructure spending. Rather than put pressure on something that is currently off the table why not push for greater stimulus spending from the government? - that will keep more people employed and spending.
