The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has suspended a franchise of Fairview Bus Inc. following the involvement of one of its units in a fatal road crash that killed a motorcycle-rider in Quezon City over the week.

In an order released on Wednesday, the LTFRB has issued a 30-day preventive suspension order against a franchise of Fairview Bus covering 10 units plying the route Baclaran-Bagong Silang via EDSA-Commonwealth and vice versa.

Under the PSO signed by LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra III and the Board members on November 12, units of the Fairview Bus Inc. covered by Case No. 2002-6416 will undergo inspection and determination of roadworthiness, road safety seminar and a compulsory drug resting for drivers and conductors. An order to show cause in writing is also issued and must be complied by the bus firm within 72 hours upon receipt.

Based on a report from the Quezon City Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit , the passenger bus, and the victim identified through his driver’s license as Fitch Burch Dela Cruz, 32, were traveling the southbound lane of the highway at about 6:30 a.m.
