On Thursday, ads appeared in Quebec media listing 21 reasons to move to Manitoba, alongside images of people wearing religious symbols

OTTAWA — The interim leader of the Parti Québécois invoked the 1885 hanging of Louis Riel on Friday as evidence that Manitoba has no business criticizing Quebec for its controversial secularism law.

The comments added fuel to a spat between Quebec and Manitoba over Bill 21, which bans religious symbols for some public sector employees, including teachers, judges and police officers. On Thursday, print and digital ads appeared in Quebec media listing 21 reasons to move to Manitoba, alongside images of people wearing religious symbols.

On Thursday, Bérubé said Manitoba should mind its own business. “And I am sure Quebec is quite a bit more attractive than Winnipeg or Manitoba,” he told reporters. The squabble over Bill 21 is the latest in a series of dust-ups between Quebec and western provinces. On Wednesday, Bérubé published an open letter in the Calgary Herald taking aim at Alberta Premier Jason Kenney for attacking the federal equalization program. Kenney has been threatening a referendum on equalization, claiming Quebec benefits disproportionately from Alberta’s oil revenue through equalization transfers.

Sorry bill 21 is not just a Quebec issue. The Charter guarantees freedom of mobility along side freedom of religious expression. I’ll let you connect the dots. Quebec is not a sovereign country it’s a province acting like a spoiled child.

Manitoba should mind its own business honestly and people should know that PQ’s interest is to divide this country ! Dont play this game with them.

Interesting

Wondering if the PQ leader is a supporter and believer in the actions of the FLQ, sure seems he is heading in that direction.

Louis Riel, how up to date.

Bahahahaha Manitoba. Call the fire department. Ya all just got burnt!!
