Owner cites 60 per cent sales drop since construction began last year

“It's nuts that this is still ongoing … everyone is saying to me, ‘Kirk, no wonder no one is going to your business.’” “Everybody else is , ‘This is what it is. It's been done on Kenmount Road, it’s been done on Torbay Road, been done on whatever other roads in the city. And I said, ‘Yes, I know…but it's just killed my business," he said.

Fleming said he appreciates the customers who have stuck with him throughout the construction, and he’s having a sale right now to cut down on the amount of furniture he’ll have to move to a new location.Fleming is not the only person to highlight the negative effect of the construction. Last month, The Telegram published a letter from a resident named Tom Badcock who likened the experience to a battle zone.
