. Those four companies took the same top four spots in the ranking this year — with Google being No. 1 — based on the share of US computer science students who selected them as one of their ideal employers.
Thousands of students from different college-grade levels were asked to report their ideal employers, or where they most want to work. They were told to choose up to five places from a list, but could select fewer. About 41% of computer science students said Google, and about 22% said Amazon, per the survey data collected from September 2022 to March 2023.
Some other places that made the top 20 based on the shares of computer science students were NASA, IBM, and Tesla. Lockheed Martin and Intel both moved up eight spots from last year's ranking for computer science students, the biggest increases in the rank among the top 20.
