Preston-based production company Factory Noir is looking for sponsors to help finance a low-budget feature film.Reputation is an upcoming psychological crime drama set in the fictional northern town of Dennings, shot in the beautifully scenic Ribble Valley.

With the script described as ‘raw, violent and darkly comic’, this will be the feature film debut of Preston filmmaker Martin Law, set for production later in 2023. Martin has been developing the idea for the film for over 10 years and always planned to shoot it himself independently. He is looking for extra finance to bring the film to life.Martin said: “The UK doesn’t really have a film industry. Certainly not like Hollywood, where studios produce films through their own profits. The UK really lacks any kind of funding for films. You might be lucky to get a few grand from the BFI, but that takes years and lots of hoops to jump through.

Martin has saved up some money himself, but is now looking for local businesses to sponsor the film. “For £1,000, your company logo will be included in the end credits of the film, and will also appear on the film’s website too. “The film will be proudly northern. I’ve already got some great talent attached and I can’t wait to get started.”
