Stock Market Today: Dow Slides 250 Points; Amazon and Intel Stocks Rally

↗️ Amazon : The tech giant said quarterly profit tripled to nearly $10 billion on the back of strong sales in its cloud-computing, advertising and retail units. Shares rose nearly 7%. ↘️ Exxon Mobil , Chevron : The supermajors' quarterly earnings were sharply lower than a year earlier. Chevron stock fell more than 5%, on pace for its lowest close in over a year and the worst performer among the Dow industrials. Exxon stock declined 1.5%. ↘️ JPMorgan : The bank's shares slipped about 3%.

↘️ Charter Communications : Charter's stock fell more than 9% after the cable and broadband giant warned that it would become more difficult to gain broadband subscribers. ↗️ Intel : The chipmaker's stock rose more than 9% and was the best performer among the Dow industrials. Its results topped analysts’ expectations, with signs that a PC recovery is starting to take hold.
