Nothing surprises me anymore. Always thought it was a bit suspect. People were less well off in the 60's and 70's and i don't remember food banks or lots of starving ppl around. Our family, low single income family got by by being thrifty.

Well those that use the food bank in my town certainly benefit from it rather then big business

Yea , I'm low paid worker but supermarkets already make big profits so I stopped extra purchases for donating .

We had this conversation with my step father and said at least soup kitchens are for the people by the people but my step father a tory mayor at the time said this would be political suicide
