Sadtu has called for unity following the announcement of new leadership team.

The gathering, which brought together thousands of delegates, concluded on Saturday following four days of discussions. The conference comes as the education sector grapples with several challenges, including the partial signing of the BELA Act, which has left out key clauses necessary for its effective implementation.

Maluleke says, “The congress has indicated that clause four and five must be implemented as a matter of urgency and therefore they will proceed to implement that and not wait for the three months, because we believe that the three months is a result of others not wanting to really transform and not wanting to accept us as one nation, but want to continue to protect their privileges.
