The party says Ramaphosa signed the Bill but suspended two sections to appease GNU partners.

At a National Assembly Programming Committee meeting, the party suggested that the President signed the bill but suspended two contentious sections for three months to appease GNU partners.

The MK Party wants to know what this means for democratic processes and decisions taken by Parliament.MK Party MP Mzwanele Manyi questioned why the Bill was not just sent back to Parliament for amendments “Should we, now as South Africa, expect all the laws that have been passed by the 6th administration, when the ANC was in power to be reversed now that they are in coalition with the DA? This process is a concluded democratic process. Is the DA now going to use the muscle of the ANC to get the necessary threshold for them to reverse transformation?” asked Manyi.

Last month Ramaphosa signed the Bill indicating that the Bill seeks to address these challenges that act as barriers to the country’s children accessing quality education.
