There is a difference between setting standards for politicians and the spreading of salacious rumours by the nature of the questions alone

Actually you couldn’t be more wrong Stephen. It speaks to his character which, ultimately, is all a politician has to offer.

you’re damn right it’s our business.

Where does he get off saying that it’s really none of our business? When our tax dollars are allowing them to govern and to publicly serve, when citizens are the ones that either vote them in or out, and sometimes fund their vacations.....

I agree a little until the extortion part.

Maybe these family value preverts should bring back sex ed in schools and be an active demo on what not to do?

Wrong. Their private behaviour (that they would choose to keep secret) makes them subject to blackmail. If their judgement and conduct can be influenced by unknown players, then nothing they do can be believed to be in service to their higher purpose (their oath of office).

As our elected leaders, should they not be held to higher standard than Joe Public?

I agree that salacious details aren’t needed, but Clement should resign as MP.

If they are paid with tax dollars and are behaving like boors or fools, they can return to the private sector. But while they are serving the public, we have every right to know the details and make sure they are not in a position to cause more harm.

Oh, this will go over well with Twitter...

For once I agree. He's resigned and admitted his wrongdoing time to move.
