When the idea of canning cocktails made with Manifest Distilling spirits first came up, David Cohen wasn’t a fan.
“You can grab a beer after work, and you can go about your evening and you can be fine, right? You can deal with whatever the evening brings,” he said. “It’s nice now to be able to grab something that we make, in a format that allows you to do that." Getting a canned vodka mule into a drinker’s hands required some work, though: The new products are not just a brand extension for Manifest but require a different manufacturing process and are distributed through different channels.
That footprint could soon expand, though, Cohen said, with plans for the drinks to be distributed throughout the state by early next year. After that, Cohen said, the sky’s the limit. “We don’t know what will come of it,” he said, “but we want to try to grow quickly.”
