Jacobs Jewelers in Downtown Jacksonville is having a closeout sale ahead of its last day on Feb. 28. The store's owners plan to retire at the end of the month.

After nearly 40 years in the jewelry business, Roy and Delorise Thomas, owners of Jacobs Jewelers, are retiring.

"If you serve customers well, they will serve you," Delorise Thomas said,"and they have served us well." "It's been a very emotional time with memories and history with clients," Delorise said."The thing I'll miss the most are the customers. They've depended on us over the years." "It's up to the parents to educate young people and nurture their love of beautiful things," Delorise said."We've loved being here on the corner, in the center of the city. We've been part of so many [family milestones]."
