Oil companies and taxes that are the problem: Letters

I read an article in the newspaper applauding our governor and others for their efforts to “shine the light on greed and price gouging” from oil companies.

Hundreds of millions pour in annually in California ballot elections, and in national politics. Banking and corporate finance are a great example. The impending financial crisis we see is a direct result. It is going to be justifiable to bail them out, but mentioning debt relief from student loans to common Americans is called socialism. The same is true for higher wages, despite the fact that a plethora of economic research indicates greater economic growth as a result.
