Island company fined for not complying with temporary foreign workers rules

The Hot Chinese Kitchen, owned by the Hua-Mei Food Group Ltd. of Comox, has been fined $48,000 and banned from hiring temporary foreign workers for two years.It is banned from hiring temporary foreign workers until March 4, 2025.Further details were not immediately available.

A wide range of businesses have been fined including restaurants, farms, trucking, building contractors, janitorial services, barbershops and more.
