Porn industry group sues over Utah age verification law

The Utah State Capitol is shown on March 3, 2023, in Salt Lake City. Adult entertainment industry lobbyists have filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against a new Utah law requiring porn sites implement age verification mechanisms to block minors from accessing sexually explicit materials.

They contend that the age verification law “imposes a content-based restriction on protected speech that requires narrow tailoring to serve a compelling state interest."
