- Sibanye-Stillwater reported today that production from its gold operations in South Africa was 334,721 oz in H1 2023, up 233% compared with H1 2022.

The company's platinum group metals production from its operations in South Africa was 848,723 4Eoz in H1 2023, flat compared to H1 2022 , reflecting “another solid operational performance” and “commendable management” of elevated levels of load curtailment during H1 2023. Sibanye added that recycling ounces fed during H1 2023 decreased by 55% to 162,452 3Eoz year-on-year mainly due to lower receipt rates as a consequence of the market downturn.

The company’s headline earnings per share for H1 2023 are expected to be between 11 US cents and 12 US cents compared with HEPS for H1 2022 of 27 US cents for H1 2022, representing a decline of 48% to 53% compared to H1 2022.
